Collaborator: Destiny group
Destiny Group has proven to be a genuine developmental partner for the kingdom of Eswatini across several sectors. Their continuous and valuable contribution from arts and culture to national charity, particularly to the marginalized children and the destitute elderly is quite astounding. A truly Swazi company, Destiny Music was conceived out of a passion for music by its founding director, Tom
Lin. What started as a response to the acute shortage of good musical instruments for local artists has turned into a multifaceted company that has a strong presence in the Enterprise and electronics sector.
Tom Lin, a robust Swazi entrepreneur of note started this business from zero, at the age of 20 without any capitalization, as loan applications were turned down. He had no collateral; music was not considered as an industry then and he was considered very young for a businessman. That however never dampened the entrepreneur's spirit from pursuing his goal. Destiny Music commenced as a retail business for musical instruments but has grown in leaps and bounds, no wonder it caught the eye of the panel of judges of the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2003, when Tom was crowned the Youngest Entrepreneur of the Year.
Today Destiny Group has grown into many business divisions such as; Retail (electronic/musical instruments and audio-visual); Enterprise Solutions (Infrastructure, Server Rooms and Data Center setup, Safety and Security and Managed services installations); and the Event Production (Staging & Sound, LED screens, Lighting, Events Management, Set design, Multi Media and sound). Each division has the capacity to run as an independent business unit.
Destiny Group has proven to be a loyal partner to Philani Maswati on many levels over the years. They have been our partner/sponsor during the past Eswatini Biggest Braai events, providing staging and sound. Recently, during the launch of the adopt a house programme by Philani Maswati at the old age home in Dvokolwako, Destiny Group again sponsored the event by providing stage and sound for the Jazz Festival. They further went on to adopt three houses for the elderly, which means they will construct, furnish and finish three houses at the old age home an donate them to Philani.
